College Nurse

Excelsior Community College invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of College Nurse (Level 2).

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Nursing;
• At least three (3) years experience in clinical care;
• Current registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica;
• Training in Midwifery will be an asset.

Role

• Providing general medical/first aid assistance to staff and students of the College as needed;
• Giving advice to staff and students on matters relating to health and wellness;
• Assessing, planning, evaluating and executing the healthcare programme of the College;
• Keeping students health records confidential;
• Making referrals to Dentists, Ophthalmologists and other health professionals as needed;
• Conducting health  screening to prevent epidemics.

• Excellent customer services skills;
• Extremely confidential and caring;
• Attentive to detail and accuracy;
• Flexibility and willingness to work on shift;
• Competency with the Microsoft Suite.
